World Racquetball Tour Announces Biggest Tournament in Northern California

Top Ranked Players and International Teams to Attend West Coast Championship

CONCORD, CA – The World Racquetball Tour (WRT) will hold the largest racquetball tournament in the Bay Area featuring the tour’s top ranked players from around the world. International federations including Argentina, Bolivia, Japan, Chile, Mexico, USA, Canada and Costa Rica have committed to sending players to the tournament.

The tournament, named the WRT West Coast Championship, will take place over three days at the Big C Athletic Club from January 27 – 29, 2017.

The West Coast Championship is the first Grand Slam of the 2017 WRT Season with twelve tour stops around the United States through December 2017. Pablo Fajre, Founder and CEO of the WRT is excited to bring the tour to the vibrant city in the heart of the Bay Area. “We are pleased to partner with the City of Concord to make this an annual event that continues to grow. The WRT represents the next generation of racquetball and provides a platform for players to showcase their talents. WRT will reveal new releases for the 2017 season at the West Coast Championship including the addition of Facebook Live streaming the round of 16s on Friday. Traditionally the WRT provides a free, professional broadcast of the event starting with the Quarter and Semi Finals on Saturday, ending with the Singles and Doubles Finals on Sunday. The Facebook Live broadcast broadens the access that fans have to players.

With divisions for both men and women ranging in age and skill levels, there are lots of options for amateurs to sign up and play in a shootout style that starts on Friday evening and runs through Sunday. There will be entertainment, giveaways and contests throughout the tournament, along the WRT live streaming.
